AMSPAR and City & Guilds work together to provide qualifications recognised by Ofqual for the sector.

A range of qualifications are offered.

Medical Principles

An individual’s health is important to themselves and those close to them. It is vital that the medical secretary, practice manager, administrator and receptionist handles matters with the utmost sensitivity and confidentiality.

Award in Medical Principles for the Administrator

The aim of the AMSPAR Level 3 Award is to equip the learner with the specialised medical knowledge of administration in a healthcare environment. It will enable the learner to understand health promotion (HP) and the role of the administrator in giving advice on health. They will learn how to maintain a safe and healthy environment through the prevention of infection and how the principles of medical ethics, etiquette and confidentiality apply to medical administration. The learner will also develop and understanding of the work of the pathology and clinical imaging departments and basic knowledge of drug classification, human anatomy and physiology.

The AMSPAR Level 3 Award in Medical Principles for the Administrator is accredited by Ofqual and is listed in the Qualifications and Credit Framework (9 credits).
