A range of qualifications are offered.
Are you a caring person who enjoys working with and for others? Do you enjoy working as part of a team? If the answers are yes, then you could be an ideal person to work in medical administration.
As a medical administrator or receptionist you will fulfil a very important role within a health care environment. You will be part of the ‘front - line’ staff and often the first port of call for patient and relative enquiries, either by telephone or in person. You will also be involved in the electronic “Choose and Book” scheme. The impression that you make on these people will influence their opinion of the organisation that you work for. You will also work as part of a team and liaise with a variety of colleagues and health care professionals.
The medical receptionist or administrator can choose to work within general practice, hospitals, clinics or private practice.
Studying for the AMSPAR Intermediate Diploma in Medical Reception (IDMR) will equip you with the knowledge and skills required for this interesting and challenging role. It will also provide you with a stepping stone into your career.
The IDMR is a nationally recognised qualification for medical receptionists and is accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) within the National Qualifications Framework. The award is set at Level 2 where the Government is directing increased funding through the Learning and Skills Council.
